Surf Fishing Rods
Surf rods or poles are usually oversized spinning or bait casting rods. They have long grip handles for 2 handed casting, and a surf rod is usually 10 to 14 ft in length. A surf pole needs to be extra long in order to cast the lure past the breaking surf, which is usually hundreds of feet weighed down by heavy lures and bait.
To find a surf rod, look on eBay before you buy retail. EBay often has more surf rods, even the telescopic rods for a lot less than conventional sporting goods stores. If you're looking for lures as well, check eBay for that too!
